1970 LT1 Corvette Engine Lift Brackets

    Hi All,

Looking for reference pictures of original engine lift brackets for a 1970 LT1. It is also my understanding that the front bracket should be painted silver while the rear bracket that mounts to the bell housing is orange. Is that correct?

I didn't see anything in the archives specifically for LT1 reference. Was the LT1 brackets LT1 specific or interchangeable with other years/ small blocks?

    Thanks,
    Dave

The brackets for LT-1 were painted as you described.

The same lift brackets were used for 1968-70 small blocks, LT-1 or otherwise.

Do you have the latest 70-72 Judging Guide if not you should. It has the photos and information you need plus so much more.

The were the same but the front ones mounted on al. intakes were silver & the ones on CI. were painted Orange.

          Thanks All.

Yes Paul, I do have the manual. Unfortunately I left it at the shop and was hoping to go shopping for a rear bracket before I have a chance to get back to the shop.

          Thanks,
          Dave

The new 1970-72 TIM&JG will tell you that the configuration of the front lift bracket was different for 1970 than for 1971 and newer. I believe we have photos illustrating the differences in the manual.
