What year(s) were side exhaust offered on Corvettes ?

For the 1969 model year, GM Zone Newsletter(s) indicated N14 side exhaust not available until approx. Nov 1st 1968.

I see by the replies to my post that there was no side exhaust offered for the 68 model year. Anyone know the reason for this ?

In my old lists, I see seven N14's in '66 model year with N03 (all big blocks), and one in '65 (a 396). But my N03 lists covered only a small fraction of the total of 3617 1966 N14's and 759 1965 N14's produced per GM's option totals, so hard to say how many were N03 as well.

I had the first '68 427 BB convertible in my area in old days. I was very disappointed that I could not get side exhaust with it.
The car was blue. Broke down all the time as I recall. Spent more time at the dealers than on the road in the old days. But I still loved it. JD

Just guessing, but they'd had enough problems just getting it into production, it was already a year late, they decided they didn't need anymore headaches and they'd work on it for the next model year.
