We're preparing to drop the body back onto frame. Before doing so we want to write the correct date on the frame with grease pencil. And I would like to know the birthday of my car. Is the assembly date the date frame was pulled, placed on the assembly line and production began or the date it rolled off the line?
Determining the date: Car is 1964 convertible. Serial number is 121084 VIN: 40867S121084
Last serial number July 1964: 122229 (last car off the line for 1964 production year).
Last serial number June 1964: 120920 (last off line June 1964).
Thus 1,309 Corvettes produced July 1964
I need to know number of July work days. Not easy because I don't know the date car #120920 was assembled. July 4th was a Saturday.
Divide 1,309 (cars produced) by work days = average number of cars produced per day in July.
Then what?
