Has anyone ever seen a 1965 (or any year) Protect-o-Plate with the Owners name and address stamped on the plate itself. I always thought the name and address was done by the dealer with GM logo tape or sometimes a genetic address-o-graph tape with reverse lettering. If it is stamped it seems it would have been done in St. Louis and the owners name would not be available then. Could it have been a GM employee or VIP.? Could a dealer have the stamping machine similiar to the machine in St. Louis.? Any help is appreciated.

I have seen this on C3s (I believe 1968, but I can't be sure of that. It may have been even int he 1970-72 era.) when there was guarantee remaining for the second owner. I believe the plate was stamped by the Zone Office.Terry- Top

Re: 1965 Protect-o Plate
When the warranty was transferred during the warranty period the Zone office printed up a new one as is the case with my 1969 Corvette.E. Byers bought the car Jan. 1970 from the first owner.Attached Files- Top

Re: 1965 Protect-o Plate
Thanks for for the responses. Seems to me that the original owners name could not possibly be on the original plate as that plate was affixed onto the warranty book in St. Louis. Likely it is a warranty replacement done by the zone office.- Top
