    L88 Air Cleaner Assembly

I have been looking at the design of the L88 air cleaner assembly and wondering how you remove the air cleaner element located inside the air chamber located inside the hood. If the air chamber is bonded to the hood I do not see anyway to remove the filter. I am sure there is a way and I would like to know how it is done. Thanks for any information.

The L-88 air filter is just a cylindrical piece of flexible foam with a separate flexible metal inner liner ( full of holes and a little larger in diameter than the hood opening) to keep the foam in a cylindrical shape. It is very easy to stuff the foam into the hood and then place the metal liner into the hood opening to keep the foam from collapsing. You are correct that it would not be possible to get an ordinary stiff air cleaner element into the hood.
