Look in the yellow pages, there should be some rebuilders that do starters. In my area I have two places that can rebuild them.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I need to get a date matching 7365 starter. I've had Ken Bruno rebuild an alternator for my Firebird SD a few years ago, I just found his ad in the driveline. Looks like he does starters Too.

          Glen,

I looked for John Pirkle at Corvettes at Carlisle last month. Went to his usual space on the grounds and he wasn't there. The neighbor of John's space said John has retired/went out of business and no longer is taking work. I haven't tried to call him to confirm this but my last call to him earlier this year was not returned.

Just so happens I found 1.5 1100859 alternators at the same show (been looking for 5 years), found Ken Bruno's space and worked a deal with him. He returned the fully refurbished alternator and it looks great. Haven't run it on the engine yet but I fully expect it to work fine. I do believe he does starters as well.

If Ken Bruno doesn't have one try Ron Burke @ Chevy Cool. He has an ad on page 23 in the latest issue of the Driveline. (Sept-Oct. 2016)

He's listing a 1107365 for 1966-69 if that's what you're looking for. I'm not sure what vehicle you're working on. If he doesn't have one I'm sure he can steer you in the proper direction.

As I mentioned earlier I have had Bruno do an alternator rebuild for my super duty 1111015. It looks great, but hasn't been in use yet. His website shows details on his alternators rebuilds, but not starter. His Driveline ad mentions that he rebuilds both alternators and starters. I'll call him Monday. Regarding your hard to find and I'm sure expensive 859, what is the 1.5 reference?

Ron Burke of Chevy Cool is a great guy and does good work at a very reasonable price. He's done two starters and several water pumps for me. I have been very happy with his work and fast turn around time.

I have talked to John Jr recently - He is no longer doing work - He has to get a full time job - he says the rebuilding business was not paying the bills.

I just got off the phone today with Ron Burke today. He had a starter for this '67 that I am working on. Been looking for while. Last item to find is a voltage regulator with a 7A or 7B, perfer 7A.
