What is the best way to lubricate a noisy tach cable? I purchased some Cable Ease but am not sure how to proceed. Can I remove the inner cable from the sheath from above to lubricate it and then reinsert it? It's tough to get at the cable connection to the tach under the dash. Thanks.

Yes, You can pull the cable out from one end only. What is the best way to lubricate a noisy tach cable? I purchased some Cable Ease but am not sure how to proceed. Re: C2 tach cable
Noel,
I just cleaned and lubricated the speedometer and tach cables on my 63 car. After cleaning all the grease on the cable and housing I bought some speedometer cable lube, this looked like powdered graphite and mineral spirits with the consistancy of water. When finished I could hear the cable when spinning with my hand so I again removed the inner cable and used a very small amount of moly grease and lubed the inner cable working it in and out from the bottom. After I worked it around good I removed the inner cable and installed it back from the top, I had these cables removed from the car so it was easy. The moly grease has graphite and I believe it will work fine just don't use to much.- Top
