I recently acquired a 1968 roadster, 327/350 CR4-spd, 2 tops 53k miles, Corvette bronze w black vinyl hard top & conv tops.
Original owner kept for 46 yrs & from what I can see all is original except owner added Stingray script to front fenders, & '69 style side exhaust. Engine is original with AIR pump intact, water pump has been replaced but I have the original piece.
Body is in need of repaint & repair, seams have cracked & headlamp rivets are visible under fiberglass. At some point someone has "keyed" the passenger door. Interior is in very good condition.
Have tank build sheet (or at least most of it!), protect-O-Plate, original invoice, etc.
My dilemma is how much do I change, I'll replace belts/hoses since, if not original they are at least old.
But how about shocks, control arm bushings, etc. Will replacing these items affect original value?
It will be a long term project, just not sure where to draw the line.
Suggestions?
