Looks like much less A O Smith progress (making bodies in 1967, prior to K15). When did they stop all together?

Note the green check mark. I understand that was the check mark applied at St. Louis.

I'm not a pad expert, but it looks like the rivets in the original posted 66 pad have been tampered with. Or maybe they did it that way in 66

I have been able to get independent confirmation hat this IS a reproduction trim tag, put on the car at the request of the owner when the color change occurred. Thanks for everyone's input.

My AO Smith body 66 has a trim tag date of July 1, 66 and per shipping data report, the car was built July 14. So a couple of weeks doesn't seem to be all that unusual for AO Smith cars.

Regarding lag time for AO Smith bodies and vehicle build dates. I was looking through the Nolan Adams book and on page 192 shows a picture of Dow Smith railroad cars with bodies. The picture text says "....Travel time between Iona and St. Louis was typically 8 to 14 days."
