Impressive rig, but if commuting conditions are so bad they require a 600HP, 4x4 truck, it may be best to stay home.

Years ago, my brother's daily commuter was an '85 coupe 4+3 and then an '87 convertible automatic. He loved them, but I remember he preferred the automatic for daily driving and liked the coupe's storage area. His only real complaint was the clumsy ingress/egress over the frame rail. Consider it your daily stretching exercise to keep limber.

Today, C4s with < 40k miles sell for less than $15k. So if you go this route, pick a real cherry. And think of the $ you'd save: The full purchase price of the C4 is less than the first year's depreciation on a new Corvette. (I think the C4's styling is cleaner, too.)

It may sound extreme, but if you have ever needed to get a 5000 lb.+ load from 0-75 mph in the length of a Houston onramp to I-10 or I-45 to dodge and outrun the 18 wheelers who will not let you in, you would welcome that rig. And the many times I had to get through 1-2 foot of water to get home (which drown out my wife's Sable wagon several times) this kind of rig would pay for itself in no time. And Houston drivers are only marginally better than LA , and worse than Dallas ones at common courtesy, so the bigger the rig the better for intimidation.......
