    60 dash lights

Does anyone know were the main dash ground wire goes... I was pretty sure it went on the speedometer housing above the temp gauge area... I had to fix the speedometer so out came the dash. I have a wiring diagram but grounds are not that clear on it...

I checked the dimmer its ok... and the fuse... no dash lights... I will try and run a jumper ground wire tomorrow to make sure they are working.

Does someone know all the ground spots, I would really like to check and clean them all, found the obvious ones.

    thank you.

Here is a depiction I made years ago.. The red arrows are two of the critical ground locations.

      Sweet Photo thanks!
Oh my please don't tell me that's from the AIM, I keep forgetting I have that. Dang it... I think it because it got them dang punch holes I'm afraid to rip... time to get some sheet protectors and place em in! Or scan the whole thing. (guess I forget to I'm a computer person with technology at hand)

Yep that's were I hooked it up, she screws in on one of the speedo mount screws... I will double check, I am thinking I did something to the headlight switch. I checked the resistor coil on it.. and its in good shape.. maybe I pushed on it or the tab when I put it back together...

Wondering if anyone has run/found good LED BULBS for the DASH, any part numbers... those dang bulbs are really hard to get in and out... I have semi small hands and even a chore... All the power saving would be a good thing for the wires and switches. Soon going to the LED front and tail lights... need all the power for the LUCAS HEADLIGHTS or if I run the AIRPLANE LIGHTS again... hehe those are so wrong...

Yes - that may be the single worst page in the '61 AIM, busy as all heck and indistinct. A few folks on the Corvette Forum have gone over to LEDS in the dash....mostly in C2s though; can't say I remember anybody doing it in a C1....

Check out post #7 in the following attachment. Post #10 tells you where to get them and, yes, they are dimmable (is that a word??)

C1 & C2 Corvettes - LED Dash Light Install - 1961 Model. Since all of my dash instrument lights were out, I decided to replace them with LEDs. I did not replace the Brake warning, High Beam or signals since they were all working. Went through the task of moving out the cluster out far enough so I could reach the...
