Original '66 L72 Valve covers?

Hi Gents, can you provide me your opinion if these valve covers are factory original L72 pieces?

They look like 1966 valve covers to me. Early 1966 had a relief impressed on the forward end of the right side valve cover but most 1966 covers did not have it. Keep in mind, though, that 1966 Corvette valve covers were not unique to Corvettes. The "IP" code was unique to Corvettes but that label may well not be original to these valve covers.

Thanks for the info. I'm not too concerned with the sticker. I bet it is a reproduction. What is more important is that these are factory original.

What I like about them is that the sheet metal on the inside are plain,they do not have indents. My two 66 BB cars that are fairly original are like these,the sheet metal round the holes are plain. Most used ones for sale have the indents,not many are plain. I don't know if this makes the plain ones original.

Looks like they have seen a lot of use. Also they would work on 1965 L 78 application.

You are correct Dave! I got you beat though, as my gorgeous 2.5 yr old daughter and 4 month old son are probably the youngest NCRS members.....Nice to hear from you. Glad you are doing well. Are we ever going to meet in person? Jeez................
