How many shims should I start with when installing my trailing arms?

Guys,

getting ready to install my trailing arms and I don't know how many shims were in it when it came apart. How many should I start off with during initial assembly?

I put an equal number of shims on each side of the arm until the "pocket" is full. I use that as a starting point when I do an alignment.

All of them. About 1/2 on each side. Use a couple of thin ones to give the shop a combination to work with.

Is the body on the frame? If body off, then Van Steel's suspension video shows a rough alignment procedure. Procedure depicts alignment using the frame rails.
