    57 Front Emblem Exact Location

The front end of the 57 I'm restoring is missing the front emblem. I have an NOS emblem but without existing holes don't know exactly where to locate it. The AIM doesn't show dimensions that I can see and I can't find them in any of the literature I have. Does anyone have any information on this or dimensions they can offer? Even a measurement up from the top of the grill oval to the bottom of the emblem might work?

Allan, I have one 1956 at 1 3/8 inches from the top of the grille. I will check the other car later today and report.

My '57 is 1 15/16" from top of oval to bottom of bezel.

Thank you both for your replies, I have read where there are differences in the trunk location and wonder if the front is the same?

I just measured my May built 57. 1-3/4 from top of chrome oval to bottom of bezel. So it sounds like they may vary some.

I came up with 1 3/4", same as Dan. Mine is a late August car, if that has any bearing on it.

Wow, certainly looks like it was "eyeballed"..... or their "measuring stick" was flexible. I'm leaning towards 1 3/4 which kind of seems to be an average... I can see after doing this day after day how one would get to think they could eyeball it... and if the drill didn't hit right where it should to cover up an "error". They were hand built cars after all....
