Hi I have a 67 and it now has a battery draw. I seem to have traced it down to the wiper motor. It is odd because if the key is off and I turn the wiper switch on (clockwise) the draw goes away. Turn the switch back off and the draw comes back. If I disconnect the 3 leg connection at the wiper motor it goes away as well. Could it be a grounding issue?

Re: Battery Draw
Have you tried to run the wipers with the key on and then shut them off so that they return to "park"? Possibly the problem is in the park circuitry.- Top

Re: Battery Draw
Yes that's a good test of the Park mechanism circuit. It may be trying to Park but something in the rotating mechanism is preventing it.
Does the heater blower work when turned on? A telltale of a No Ground condition will be a noticeable Click when you turn the Ign Switch to ON. Sounds like a Relay click. If so, you lost the ground(Black wire) between the starter mount bolt and the Wiper Motor/Blower Motor. This ground is totally separate from the main harness and forward/engine harness ground.- Top

Re: Battery Draw
This issue comes around quite often as you have removed the starter or replaced it for some reason. You or your mechanic has taken the black wire (ground) at the starter and placed it on the positive (red) connection. The draw is thru the heater blower motor coils and the wiper motor.
The black wire at the starter has a large terminal connector so people assume it is for the positive terminal on the starter but it is for placing it on the mounting bolt of the starter.
