I've run an exhaustive search on the forum and archives and still can't quite get a definitive answer of where the deck weatherstrip ends at each side of the deck. I've seen comments that the weatherstrip runs all the way to the end and the screw that holds the stainless steel clip runs through it and I've also seen photos in the Restorer and in other posts that show it mounted short of the forward end of the deck by about an inch, clearing the stainless steel clip screw. Which is correct? Any comments from owners of Bowtie cars? Thanks.

Re: C1 convertible deck weatherstrip
Original '57. Maybe later years was under the screw.
...and it's original top weatherstrip and top. The top w/strip was integral one piece header and 2 sides. This changed to separate pieces later, late 59 IIRC.

Great pics Richard. Interesting how they cut a "V" shape in the weatherstrip to provide passage for the screw. Hadn't seen that before.Keith MacRae

Re: C1 convertible deck weatherstrip
Keith, I think the Vee was to help the rubber curve around the edge. You can see the trace of the Vee on the lid just under where the rubber peeled away from it. The screw didn't pass through the rubber.- Top
