Re: Weight distribtion across front / rear wheels (midyear cars)
...depends on options and how it's measured, but at "curb weight" (full fluids including fuel) about 52-53 percent on the front end for a big block. For example a 427/390 with AC, PS, and PB would be more front heavy than a 427/425 that doesn't have those options, and a few front end pounds are saved with the aluminum inlet manifold. About 70 percent of driver/passenger weight would be on the rear plus effectively 100 percent of cargo weight in the rear compartment.
The '63 base Sting Ray was quoted at 48/52, but later small blocks were more like 49/51. Variations occur depending on model year and options. Heavy options like AC and PS place most of their weight on the front end.
It should be easy to find road tests on line fron the era. They usually state curb weight and weight distribution. Most year AMA specs specify shipping weight (full fluids except fuel at 2-3 gallons, although they seem low to me) and option weights.
Decades ago I had my SWC weighed at a truck stop - half a tank of fuel and a small suitcase in the back... 3050 pounds, but the single scale couldn't provide the distribution.
