Gents: In anticipation of the upcoming Lone Star Regional, I am spending lots of money (e.g., tar top battery, shocks, paints, tags, gaskets, cigerette lighters, decals, bells, whistles, etc.). One of the things I purchased has me a bit stymied (which I might add is easy to do). Specifically, I bought a C2 convertible top reproduction delivery tag and the corresponding protective sleeve. The tag is self explanatory, yet, the "plastic sleeve" is very hard plastic and very oddly shaped. In turn, the cryptic instructional papers then talk about using a hair dryer ... to mate the 2 items up? Does anyone have any experience with this item that they can share? As always, many thanks. Best, Ned

Re: C2 Convertible Top (reproduction delivery tag)
Hi Edmund,
Is this the protector your talking about? If so, I just returned mine to CC. I tried the blow dryer but I still couldn't get it over the bottom seam of my top on my 73. I was afraid it would crack so I didn't force it. Wasn't pleased with it.Attached FilesJimmy

Re: C2 Convertible Top (reproduction delivery tag)
Without the protector the tag will shortly be destroyed from wind making it flap around. I installed the plastic protector on my 63 it is not that difficult to do. Heat the plastic until it starts to get soft don't rush the process make sure it is soft or it will crack when flexible wrap it around the bottom bow of the top and squeeze (put on gloves the plastic will get hot) the soft plastic to make it form to the bow, when the plastic cools it will remain in position and protect the tag from wind.- Top

Ned, I am not sure that all blower dryers will get it hot enough, Using a heat gun on the lower setting will.New England chapter member, 63 Convert. 327/340- Chapter/Regional/national Top Flight, 72 coupe- chapter and regional Top Flight.- Top

Re: C2 Convertible Top (reproduction delivery tag)
I have never put anything over my tag, judging does not require a protector, and unless you drive lots and in the rain, etc. mine has lasted for well over two years now.Big Tanks In the High Mountains of New Mexico- Top

Jimmy et. al.: Yes, that's the little rascal in the picture you provided. It seems very robust just to protect that piece of paper (for Car Show use only - in my case at least). Thanks for the usual great guidance fellows. Best, Ned- Top
