1958 door jamb wires have no power

Main harness ok, headlights , tail lights and dash lights work, dimmer switch works. So, I put the door switches in along with the center dash courtesy light. Orange / white connector to the courtesy light. Black / white wires to door jamb switches has no power.

Am I missing something obvious?

The door switches don't switch +12 VDC. They supply the ground to the lamps.
