'68 Non-Tilt steering cancel cam spring - any alternatives

Hi All,

Having a heck of a time finding steering spring which was original GM PN 5673012 (from assembly manual UPC12C1). Nothing shown from Corvette suppliers, ebay, nada.

Question: will any strong spring work that fits in the cancel cam work? Any suggestions? Cross-part numbers?

GM #5673012 was discontinued in December, 1971 and replaced by GM #386789. The latter was discontinued without supersession in about 1980.

Dr. Rebuild shows that he has a spring for your application under his number 6521111.
