It's applicable to 1967-82 Corvettes with power brakes as well as quite a few other GM applications.

That I do not know. It's possible the GM gasket changed over time. This gasket was available in SERVICE for almost 50 years and it's very possible the color of the gasket material changed. The color of the material might not even have been part of the GM specification for the part.
