1967 390HP top alternator adjusting bolt and washers

Was told I need a flat washer and a star washer on this adjusting bolt, is that correct or what is right? Thanks in advance.

That is correct. In this order...backside of alternator boss, then adjusting bracket, washer, star washer then bolt.

Jerry, To add a something else to Leaf's post the flat washer was typically thicker and slightly bigger dia. that a normal flat washer.

Also when the bolt and washers are installed the end of the bolt is almost flush with the ear on alternator.so the bolt length was specific.
