What is the serial number of the first factory production fuel injected 1957 Corvette? Also, was it a 250hp283 or 283hp283 FI engine?

Keith Crain Editor/owner of Crain Communication claims to have the first 57 FI. Vin #0040 saw it last month. It does have rare early style high hat chrome FI air cleaner. I would make no opinion on his claim unless I explored a little more.

My brother John Ames in Brookville Fla. recently sold #10 the first fuel injected 57. He restored it and showed it several times at the Orlando meets.

Car #40. I believe that car was once owned by a member of the Pittsburgh Chapter of NCRS. He should be looking in here and may verify that.
