    '66 p/brake m/cyl finish

My master cylinder was rebuilt about 10-12 years ago by White Post & was finished with a cast iron looking coating. It has held up well and is very durable, but I'd like to change it to simulate original black. Thus, looking for recommendations for a reliable paint from those members who have successfully done same. (DOT 5 in use). Always liked Seymour, SEM & Eastwood paints over the typical big-box & FLAPS stuff, but couldn't find appropriate product. Thanks in advance.

I've used the black caliper paint that comes in spray cans will relatively good results.

I believe that VHT makes it, and many auto parts stores carry it.

+1 on the VHT caliper paint - used it for just this purpose in refinishing a 66 manual brake single pot...no complaints

The DOT 5 silicone fluid will create issues when painting. Paint will not stick well or lay out well if silicone is present. You will need to use a silicone remover like the auto body shops use to clean up the outside surface (wax/grease/silicone solvent). The rough up the surface a bit with some wet/dry paper or a Scotch abrasive pad.

Thanks to all for replies. Does the VHT caliper paint require a baking process to cure?

            from their website:
