Brake light problem

With brakes on, the right rear brake light works only,turn right flasher on and the left brake light comes on and right flasher works fine. Turn left flasher on and it works fine and the right brake light still works. Turn off left flasher and right brake is all that is on.

Jay, go under the dash and check the wire harness and make sure pins are all in the connector, and then wiggle the harness with your foot on the brake pedal check to see if the brake light(s) come on. and then a wiggle the turn signal level while the foot is on brake. You make have a problem with the turn signal switch.

Yes, symptoms of a faulty directional switch, since your left flasher works. That means the filament in the left bulb is good and has a good ground.

Problem fixed, it was the directional switch. I took it apart and notice that one of the two flat springs was bent out of shape and not making contact. I reshaped it to match the other and all is well now. Thanks for the advise.
