    64 lower A arm shaft

I'm re-assembling the frame on my 1964 convertible and noticed I have 1 square lower A arm shaft and 1 "I" beam shaft. My car was built in November 1963 and I uncovered the frame stencil part number that indicates the frame is a 1963 frame (P/N 303196 / 3819263). The frame also has both vin stamps that match my vin so I know the frame is correct for my car.

Which lower A arm shaft is correct for my frame?

the cored out shaft trailed the solid casting. but not sure when the cut in started, could be supplier continued with both configuration till dies required service. I have encountered cars with both configurations also............

Don, I have a Mar. 63 and my lower a/arms are as your are, I am thinking GM had a couple of different suppliers for the shafts. By the way my chassis was never restored that I could tell, until I did a frame off.

Thank you all for replying. My chassis was never restored until I disassembled it a couple months ago. I was concerned about the different shafts but I guess it's really not unusual. I'll just leave it as it is. Thanks again. This is my first C2 restoration and this site sure has been helpful. Have a great day.
