    Manual

I apologize to the moderators and gang here as this is not a technical question. But I thought you all needed a smile once in a awhile so here goes.

A new customer bought some parts for his FI car. So i am helping him on the phone and asked my usual questions.
#1. Do you have a manual for your fuel injection car?

His answer blew my mind. "Yes I have a MANUAL TRANSMISSION". Good thing I have patience. Thanks, John D

Thought this was one of those "blonde" jokes.
Funny and sad at the same time.
But I guess we all started somewhere.

      Re: Manual

John, yesterday the checkout guy at Costco saw the logo on my shirt and said "I have a Corvette I bought new." I asked what he had, and he said a 78. Then he added that he was upset, and gave me the name of the salesperson from 1978 and said "he never told me that it had a metal frame". He's angry because it's now rusty. One of those rare metal-frame 78's!

        Re: Manual

I tried using those manuals for my car's FI unit, but it is much easier to call Bill Wilhelm and get the answer quickly......

          Re: Manual

There needs to be a written test that a person has to pass before they are permitted to purchase a Corvette, especially a classic. I think some of our veteran NCRS members could come up with a good one. I can imagine some of the questions now, "What is an acceptable manifold vacuum reading at idle for an L76 or L84 with a 30-30 cam". If nothing else it would drive the prices down a good bit.

            John,

What if his answer was " I have an Automatic Transmission"?

Would you still have taken his money?

              Manual,
How about when JD, is judging a 63 vette at a chapter meet, and using a 1967 manual and tells me the numbers are all wrong! Poor guy was taking a lot of deducts,

Not a true story William. The manual that Rick Alshire used was a '66 manual. Not a '67. Meanwhile who looks at manuals anyhow. Most of my customers don't. hahaha.
Off to Pittsburgh chapter meeting. You guys are funny.
I am here/you are her to help one another. But it would help to crack open the book. Blow the dust off it. Later, John D
