Guys: I looked in the NCRS Archieves on this topic and got some good nuggets. However, there's no mention of where a fellow could buy the following: (1) a can or two of Quanta Shock Absorber Gray Enamel; and (2) appropriate manuf. decals. Any guidance appreciated as always. Best, Ned

Agree with LICS and/or Paragon for the decals. They may even sell the Quanta Paint. I know at one time one of them did sell it. So you might be able to buy from a single source.
I personally think the Quanta shock paint is a bit too gray............not enough blue-gray. But that is just me. FWIW.

Hi Edmund,
I will just throw this out there. Duplicolor New Ford Grey is pretty close IMHO. May be a bit glossy. I had a midyear expert see the rear shocks on my 70 and he really liked the color. Definitely a tad of blue in the grey.

Re: ISO Shock Absorber Paint and Decals (Quanta Shock Absorber Gray Enamel)
Gents: One last question. I now have the proper gray/blue hue paint; the correct inspection stickers; and now need the proper shocks. Question: I drive my Vette a lot. Should I simply buy, paint and install Delco 530-315 (Front) and Delco 530-4 (Rear)shocks; or is there a superior shock that if I paint them will be OK in the eyes of our NCRS brethern Judges? Thanks fellows. Best regards, Ned- Top

Those Delco shocks are as close as you will get from a current OEM shock. If you are worried abut NCRS judging, they will lose points, but don't have judging sheets in front of me. Now, if you want correct, date-coded shocks and are worried about NCRS judging - contact Dan Patch (advertises in the DRIVELINE, as he may have what you need.Rick Aleshire

Re: ISO Shock Absorber Paint and Decals (Quanta Shock Absorber Gray Enamel)
Guys: I ended up buying the Delco Shocks from Corvette Central and the requisite paint from Quanta. Attached is a picture of the before and after (pre-paint vs. post-paint). I think they look pretty decent; however, I'm sure that there are some real experts among us who know. Once they dry and are installed I plan to attach the proper inspection decals as well. While not a perfect match for vintage 1966 factory shocks, an honest attempt at getting close. Thanks for the guidance. Best, NedAttached Files- Top

Guys:
The Vette is up on the lift. Manual is unclear as to the exact placement of the inspection decals. Anyone got a picture of where they go? Please advise. Many thanks. Best, Ned- Top

Ned
upper part of rear shocks, facing rearward so they can be seen by your intrepid chassis judges without straining a ligament too badly when crouched down trying to catch some glimpse of your rear suspension. On the fronts facing forward so judges can see when looking from under front of your car.- Top

sorry Ned, I don't know the measurement. More low than high is how I did it.
Your intrepid judges just want to see the stickers. They won't have a ruler and couldn't reach to measure anyway.- Top
