Where do I find a mirror with proper dating- is Long Island best option?

Mike - If your car came equipped with the "standard mirror", there were 2 OEM suppliers of the "standard mirrors", Donnelly Mirror, Inc (DMI) &
GUIDE. The DMI mirror glass had a date code but the GUIDE mirror glass did not have a date code. If your car came with the "Z01 option" which came with back-up lights & a "non-glare" mirror made by GUIDE that mirror glass does not have a date code. Pete

I purchased a mirror (glass only) with the correct date from LIC to install in my '64 convert. The glass would not fit the frame, the contours of the curved ends was off by more than 1/16th of an inch and the glass was also to tall - it literally would not go into the chrome frame. Reluctantly I purchased a complete mirror, chrome frame and glass, with correct date. Nothing is easy.
