    NCRS "National Newsletter"

I've just received an a document attempting to correct a lost ad with a deadline from the Driveline - in view of the events of the past year and the rearrangement of duties, it is MORE than understandable. The other part of the newsletter deals with an August 10th deadline for Foundation applications and seems to indicate a lack of applications.
The OTHER August 10 deadline that is NOT mentioned, and to me, is significantly more important, again "in view of the events of the past year", is the DEADLINE OF APPLICATIONS TO BE REGIONAL REPRESENTATIVES. It seems to me, that at this date and time, this should be of Singular Priority among NCRS members. If you resided in Regions 4, 5 & 6 and felt you were uninformed, why aren't you (or a friend of yours) running?

    Loren,
You make a VERY good point. I just received my Driveline about 10 days ago, that did not leave very much time if I was going to run. (I am not as our Rep is running again and is doing a good job.) Since I do not live in a metro area, getting the ten signatures required would take some time. On the other hand, if a person wanted to run they should be watching these dates and be prepared. Possibly this is important enough for a special mailing (or email) which I guess is your point. Thanks for pointing it out, Don H. (PS, Thanks to those that do serve, it is a very time consuming, usually thankless, and EXPENSIVE job!)

I may be wrong, but weren't these election forms usually in an earlier (spring) issue of Driveline? I imagine that in all the organization's shake-up, this got overlooked. Perhaps the filing deadline should be extended this year.

Reba, yes, you are correct that it was moved to the May/June issue about 3 yrs. ago...however, by us not receiving any files from Cincinnati, I had to work off the last Driveline Eric did and that was the March/April issue which I had to download the hi-res copy from our printer and convert it to workable files. It did not contain the nomination forms you mention and I did not have a copy from a prior year to work from. I don't think deadline will be extended as it would involve some by-law change and it's probably too late to do that.

The member biographies will appear in the Sept/Oct issue with complete instructions on voting.

I was not faulting you, Vinnie. You did a magnificent job getting your first issue out on time. I had a feeling that this was a casualty of the changeover.

I second Reba's comment on the magnificent effort you have done Vinnie. We are all fortunate to have you, and we very much appreciate your efforts. And I was also thinking that we have come a long way. Well done sir.

Reba...I know you weren't faulting me, I just wanted to explain why it wasn't included in the May/June issue...I think if I had the files or a copy of the 2015 May/June issue, I probably would have included them...

Thanks for all the support from everyone. I'm humbled and it's very much appreciated...
