Re: Steve McQueen and his Corvette
Vinnie.... great post. Do we have any more info on the car? I am a personal friend of his son Chad I will try and ask him about the car but dont know if he will remember he may have been too little. Great vintage motorhome in pic also. Tom- Top

Re: Steve McQueen and his Corvette
If that's a photo that hit the papers in SoCal, it doesn't take much imagination to create the story where a gentleman working at his shop at the airport sees it, calls a friend to get Steve's #, makes the call and starts with "Steve? Carroll. I see you bought a new car......"- Top

Re: Steve McQueen and his Corvette
Just an FYI----this picture is available for purchase on eBay in a couple of sizes. Thought about adding one to my collection. Also, there's a 2-page spread from a Japanese magazine that shows two other shots of Steve with the Corvette. All taken at the same place. Go on eBay. Type: McQueen Corvette and you will find it.

Re: Steve McQueen and his Corvette
See "Steve McQueen Corvette" from 2007 in "Similar Threads" below. Apparently McQueen had a least two Corvettes, and his wife wrecked one of them.
Tom- This thread also mentions his son Chad shown in a photo with the '66.Mark Edmondson

Re: Steve McQueen and his Corvette
I guessed from the first photo that the location of the shot might be a movie studio lot, given the type of window in the building. One of the other shots mentioned in post above confirms that the shots were taken at a movie lot, most likely Republic Studios in Studio City, or CBS Studios in Culver City, CAL.- Top

Re: Steve McQueen and his Corvette
Interesting, I never knew he had a Corvette, it certainly didn't make the A list of his cars:

Re: Steve McQueen and his Corvette
Horrible early years, and even worse drug-addled last 15 years, sandwiched around movie star fame, fortune, fast cars and women.
He was one mixed up dude who created some great super cool screen characters. Hard to believe Bullitt came out nearly 50 years ago,
and he has been gone almost 40 years.- Top
