1964 to 1966 Directional Switch Operation Wiring Diagram

I restored a '66 standard steering column and while I was at it I created a crude diagram of the switch operation. I suspect the switch was a replacement as the wire colors of the harness do not match the colors of the body harness plug. However there is a GUIDE marking on it.

Were the switch wire colors identical to the body harness wires? (edit, a friend just sent me pictures of a original and they're identical to the harness colors)

Here's the diagram with a original switch's wire colors and interconnects.

      Rich,
If that's what you call a "crude" diagram I can't imagine what a professional one would look like Tremendously helpful info with great pics, as always.

        Thank You gents....

Joe, I have many more photos of the column so when I get time later I'll put something together to show the way I do it.

Some day somebody will put a treatise together on the '63 column and turn signal setup. I should have done it when I rebuilt mine. There is SO much bad info and misconceptions about the one-year-only stuff; especially on that "other" forum...

PS ... Frank, many years ago I restored a '63 column but didn't take many photos of the details. It's very tedious and many unique parts, I spent much time diagnosing a floppy turn lever and discovered several parts were installed wrong. I truly wish I had taken more time then to detail the process.

Dave Zuberer saw my diagrams and had some time to spiff them both up. More "Professional" looking for sure.

                Thanks Dave !
