Re: Turn Signal Flash Rates Different LT. vs. RT.

    FIXED.

It was the 63 only turn signal switch, the one bolted to the steering column in 63.

This morning, I cleaned both firewall connectors... they were fine. Put some more dielectric grease on them, and called it done.

Checked a few ground wires, and found no obvious problems.

Those actions made no difference in the TS speed.

Swapped out the switch under the column with another used switch I had, and BINGO... both the LT and RT turn signals were flashing at the same speed.

So, my original switch must be gunked up inside. There is nothing obviously wrong with it looking at the exterior of the switch.

Thanks to all who offered advice.

Chuck glad you found the issue, keep the old switch, sometimes you can take them apart and clean the contact surfaces with some light sand paper.

I sprayed it with some contact cleaner, and put it in my Tupperware tub of spare parts.

Chances are there won't be any further problems in my lifetime.

IIRC, I've seen repro switches available.... just in case.

          Nice Job Doc!

Nice diagnosis and troubleshooting. Glad it didn't need a root canal.

Thanks, Rich. I was hoping I wouldn't have to chase wires through the harnesses.
