1972 Corvette with A/C - blower fan does not shut off!

I reassembled my interior after three years and put everything back in the car after detailing all of the parts and now my heater blower fan does not turn off, all of the four speeds of the fan work, but when you come back to off, it stays on low - all of the time. any ideas as to why that is, is there an adjustment still to make or the switch is defective. Thanks for your advice.

Try moving the left hand thumbwheel all the way up to the off position. Does that help?

I had a similar problem with another GM car and it was the fan relay at the under the hood. I had to tap it to get the fan off , BUT that was also with the key off. that relay does a bunch.

I seem to remember that the AC cars always had the fan on low - on Four Seasons AC. at least from 69 - 72..

NON ac cars, off was off.

I'm with Bill add 73 the blower has 4 speeds and no off with A/C.

Exactly. However, according to the PV manual, it will shut off if you place the thumbwheel in the off position.

mine always stayed on (far left position fan switch and OFF on the thumbwheel) and the 72 454 car I had passed PV 1st shot.
the AC thumbwheel, from what I remember, only makes switch contacts on the MAX and NORM spots to turn on the compressor.
I can't remember any other electric connections on the side or bottom of the assembly.

The switch has four positions for four speeds no off on A/C cars. PV manual is wrong 73-77 for 73.
