    C5 Headlight Motor Run On

I just read the recent Restorer article on headlight motor repair on a C4. This is most timely because one headlight motor on my daughter's 2003 just started to run on after closing. In looking back in the archives, etc. I see good information on addressing this on C4's but not a lot on C5's. Other than the fact that removal and re-installation of the units will be different is it essentially the same problem and fix on the C5's as the C4's, or are we looking at a different issue? Anyone have any tricks, tips, or pitfalls for doing this repair on a C5?

My wife's 03 had the same problem last year. It's an easy fix replacing the plastic gear. The cover over the gear is glued, so you'll need to break the seal. Be sure to glue it back on after replacing the gear.
