Much easier to disconnect and plug both hoses, unless flow has to be maintained through both hoses in which case a connector nipple has to be used. Is a nipple/flow necessary? If plugged, I assume that all the flow goes thru the reservoir and then back to the rad thru the 1/4" hose to the top of the rad.

Re: Bypass Heater Core
Joe, If you're saying you want to take the heater core out of the circuit but leave the hoses connected I can send you some internal hose plugs that I make for just that purpose. My heater core was perfect but the nipples for the heater hoses were deformed quite a bit and leaked a little so I put these plugs inside the hoses and then reconnected them until next winter when I can take that whole mess out and fix it.

Re: Bypass Heater Core
Joe,
Do you want to maintain the illusion that the heater core is intact and functional or just eliminate it? If eliminate then just use pipe plugs in place of the nipples. If otherwise Harry all ready covered it.- Top

Re: Bypass Heater Core
In the AIM if you look up RPO C48, Heater Delete, it shows how the factory did it. IIRC they used a plug on the intake and the water pump hose connected to the expansion tank Tee(or was it the other way around?) and a rubber plug was put on the open end of the Tee.
