1966 SB L79 exhaust diameter

I want to double check if my exhaust pipes are correct original for my 1966 327 HP L79 Manual shift, No air.
Are 2" to 2 1/2" from the exhaust manifold, stock ? I believe so and 1965 was the last year for the 2 1/2"?

Anthony, yes the correct exhaust for your car is 2" to 21/2
the 2" requirement is outlined on page 80 of the JG under exhaust manifolds. the 2/12 requirement is outlined on page 115 of the JG, undercar exhaust, and page 116 for side exhaust.

Sounds like you have a great car. BTW, I have a 66 L79 as well

I just wanted to make double sure in case I decide to order a SS exhaust system.

We have owned ours since 2005, love it. Silver, coupe, black interior, 4spd, A/C, PB, PS, 85k miles. Our car is a driver, I am completing complete mechanical restoration and hope to be back on the road next spring for the DC cherry blossom festival.

1965 was the last year that 2-1/2" outlet manifolds were used for ANY Corvette small block. After 1965, all small blocks used 2" outlet manifolds. So, any Corvette with 2-1/2" exhaust (e.g. all L-79) used a forward pipe which transitioned from 2" to 2-1/2".
