    69 rear suspension clicking noise

Rear clicking noise, after complete rebuild of Trailing arms, u joints all suspension parts
Here is what happens: when letting the clutch out to go forward or reverse, or letting off the gas or speeding up, there is a clicking sound in the left rear, it only happens under load,(forward or reverse), Does not happen when we push the car manually or when we put weight on the rear body and bounce up and down.
All rear suspension bolts have been checked and rechecked,no difference
All trim rings, and hub caps taken off, no difference
Torqued wheel lug nuts, no difference
rubber bushing for differential support is good and torqued proper

Removed left half shaft to check the 1 1/16 nut, was torque to100 lb ft, no difference
Does not click if clutch is let out real slow

    I hope someone can help

Loose posi cross shaft holes or worn posi spiders can cause a clicking sound. Did you rebuild the diff? I have seen worn splines on the outer axles and flanges with some play, not too common but have seen it. If they are rebuilt most likely they have been checked anyway.

Sounds like you checked for the common things like the trim rings, u- joints, suspension parts.

If it's just a single click, it may be normal. The brake pads have a slot where the retaining pin inserts. When the car moves forward, the brake pad moves to one end of the slot and a click occurs. When it first moves rearward, the brake pad moves to the other end of the slot and another click occurs.

it is 2-5 clicks, depending on fast the clutch is let out

Paul, could the e/brake shoes or cables be adjusted to tight? Generally with these you would feel something binding when rolling the car in neutral. Or posi clutches hanging up, As a rule the posi clutches tend to bind when taking a slight turn.

Have you made a close inspection of half shafts and joints to make sure properly seated, look at hardware for calipers and u-joints, to long of a bolt may interfere with rotating parts.
