63 wheel arch cracked - yet another job

So I go to a local car show great weather, I drive home, I turn a tight left into my drive where the left hand wheel goes over a kerb about 3" high as I go over it I hear a ping sound and all of a sudden part of the front drivers side arch appears in the middle of the drive - my wife looks at me and says - it's nothing to do with me I'll make the tea and goes inside the house, I calm down after 5 mins then think - yet another job to do - but laughed it off its part of the fun right

I have 215-75-15 are these too wide or maybe my front shock need changing - as always any advice is always good cheers Keith

The radial tire closest to the original in size is a 205 75 15. It has roughly the same revolutions per mile so the speedometer should work correctly. They are still wider than the original tires but if your suspension is correct it shouldn't hit anything. The 215 75 can hit on hard turns into a driveway

As Bob stated, 205/75R15 are very close to original circumference. You can, also, use 215/70R15 with good results. The 215/75R15, in many cases, are just a tad too tall to navigate a turn with bump as you describe.

          Keith,

That fender looks to me like it's been repaired before, nice neat little chunk broke off. Take a good look at those springs when you get some time.

            Tim,
I thought that when I looked at the back of the bit that came off - if you look at the last picture it almost fits like a jigsaw - I'll check the springs thanks for the tip

Keith, the bonding material does not look typical surely as Tim states a repair at sometime, all thought it appears like a clean break and repair should not be to bad.
