What surface color should the bolt, wire spring and plate be? Thanks in advance.

Jerry, If you want to restore yours correctly here's the real storyh. The wire is blackened. So is the bolt. With various logos. But the reinforcing plate is "BARE" steel. Be different and restore yous that way. Yes it will rust. But that's original.
The plate on my 63 is wrong. It's blackened. John
