Ok putting in new carpter, I watched the Videos... pretty simple, I pulled the seat tracks to clean it all up inside nice and neat like... fixed the light rust on the seat tracks and the side wire cover panels, polished the rocker moldings...

2 issues I had during removal... the top shifter plate screw stripped out of the fiberglass on the trans tunnel, how does one fix? I can fiberglass but going to be hard with out taking out trans? I can plate it can get hand in there? But won't be right? Suggestion ideas?

Second was the drivers front next to the tunnel bolt mounting plate was not riveted in correctly the plate fell out... how do I fix and were to I get those style rivets? Are they top hammer type? I so how would I hold them on the back side did not look under car yet to see if they are accessible....

Wayne, The rivets you describe are available from Corvette Central. Off hand I don't recall the size, but during my 59 restoration I bought all 3 sizes just in case approx. $6 per bag with approx.10-20 rivets. You will need a helper to mushroom the rivets either by a hammer or a pneumatic riveter. I'm not sure about your description regarding the shifter plate screws. Are you talking about the plate itself or the whole console plate. If its the whole console plate, the screws are held in the a clip nut, sold by all aftermarket suppliers. If it the shift indicator plate then it maybe a new console plate required if you can re-tap the existing threaded hole.
