1965 - Fuel Injected Idler Pulley

Posting the following question for a friend to you 1965 fuellie gurus - replacing the current "incorrect" idler pulley with an NOS one I found on eBay and want to be sure I correctly paint the pulley or not. So, does the pulley get sprayed black as well as bracket. It looks like the parts were painted before the assembly was pressed together so I guess the shaft is unpainted.

What say ya'll. And, thank you for your kind responses.

Rick. I took a photo of the idler assembly on a really nice '65 survivor car at Bloomington. I'll find the photo and post it for you. Hopefully it will help you. This car still had the original production off road mufflers (the embossed "A") !

Rick, One might think a master judge would refer to the manual. Remember when we used the '65 manual to judge a '63. LOL Wasn't my fault but it was very funny.
See page 164 of the 6th edition of the '65 manual.

"The pulley finish may be plated black phosphate or painted semi-gloss black along with the bracket".
The there is a really nice photo of this part.

Master (sic!) ChePhart - if I had the fine manual in front of me I would NOT have posted the query. As it was, when I arrived at my abode last evening I did in fact ascertain the answer to my posting and so informed my friend.

HI Rick, Glad to be of service. Thanks again for helping me judge at the Pittsburgh chapter annual judged show. Much appreciated.
Dont' forget that in August of 2017 the Pittsburgh chapter is hosting a regional. We are going back to Altoona, PA where we were at in September of 2012. Hope you(all of you) can be there. JD
