Re: Upper radiator hose
Not the best picture but I'm not near the car right now so I can't take a better one. The inlet is the stock L79 "flat" inlet.Leif

Re: Upper radiator hose
thank s Leif, upon closer review of your pic's I notice your top adjusting bar for the Alt is a bit different than the one I am using.your alt bolt is in the middle of a much greater adj. span, perhaps I have the wrong upper brace....I will check the vendors catalogs and look for one like yours.

I guess it's just you and me now...Tom seems to have asked the original question and then just disappeared. Try this link for your new bracket.

Re: Upper radiator hose
Tom, Although not corvette correct I found that my local A/C delco siore hav a large selection of hpper rad.hoses.I took them to the car, eyeballed them and found a hose that would solve my delema.
# A C D 26036X, G M #88908735.
this hose was plenty long enough, had the proper bends to rise high enough over the Vee Belt after some t******* on both ends it looks like it grew there, best of luck,Francis....P S looks like "C/C "has the proper upper brace at least in my case,#302020,fits 64/67 cars.- Top

Re: Upper radiator hose
OK,thanks Leif,I looked at your link and I will have to compare with the one on my car now.I don't know how I could have mixed this up while restoring, but your brace has a very pronounced 90 * bend and a much greater Adj.travel slot.....thank's

Re: Upper radiator hose
Leif, would it be possible for you to get a measurement of the adjustment travel that is in your upper alt. arm ?
Thanks Francis- Top

Re: Upper radiator hose
Francis-------
Leif's looks to me like the 3-1/4" slot. Some of these braces used about a 2-1/4" slot. If that's what you have, that could be a problem. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: Upper radiator hose
If you're still there, Tom, consider Ralph's post as well as the following:
Do you have upper radiator hose GM ....154 or equiv?
Are you running OEM ....'660' aluminum thermostat housing on OEM ....'783' cast iron intake manifold?
GM belt p/n 3847710 or equiv, length = 53.25", top width 3/8"?
GM ....559 LH exhaust manifold?
Correct pulley (alt) is 3843342 & correct damper/drive pulley is 3744043 (not visible w/out some disassembly)
Does adjusting brace have 3+ inch slot for pinch bolt?
If so, you should have a good 1"+ of clearance between fan belt and bottom of hose with pinch bolt near the center of slot. Pics below are of my '66 with identical equipment as yours. Note the clocking of the stripe and the correct position/ends of upper hose.

Re: Upper radiator hose
Ralph,my bracket looks similar to Leif's but ths adj.slot measures about 3-1/2" as opposed to his 4-1/2' adj. slot.
and yes I played heck trying to get a belt that would work, wound up with about a 34",- Top
