    Electric Radiator Cooling Fan

Some cars allow the fan to run after engine is shut off. Do any Corvettes have this feature? I own a 1984 that sometimes seems to overheat on a really warm day. After it sets for an hour or so after engine shut off it starts ok but has no power until after a few minutes of working with the throttle to keep the engine running. Factory settings turn on the fan around 228 and off at 209. It has been suggested I wire the fan to run anytime the engine is running. Would this cause any kind of a problem?

    Thomas,

Certainly any engine could be helped by running cooler but in the case of the 84 Corvette the Induction System leaves quite a bit on the table to be desired. That is why it was discontinued! I'm afraid you are going to have to live with your problem or replace the entire system.

Probably drain the battery at the worst possible time and it wouldn't help with either of your basic problems.

      1) fix the overheating

      2) find out why the car has no power after start up. They weren't like that when new.
