    1969 Dash lightbulb sockets

I need original dash bulb sockets for my 1969 Corvette. The holes are 5/8" dia. and completely round. The twist in sockets do not work. I need the push in type. All I see advertised for my model and year car are the twist in type. If all 69 Corvettes are like mine these do not work. I have tried to use a certain generic socket I purchased at a local auto store, but they pop out too easily. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi Thomas,
Have you looked at Corvette Central #661073?
It looks to be what you need.
    Regards,

      Thanks Alan

These are the type I am currently using and they pop out very easily when I am reinstalling my dash cluster. I was thinking the original sockets were different from these and were smaller. Do you know if these are the same as the originals?

        Hi Tom,
        I really not sure.
I replaced one socket on my dash harness but I don't remember where I bought it.
It's has in place fine but I just can't remember it's source.
Is there any way you could do a slight 'improvement' on the prongs to help keep the socket more securely in place?
        Regards,
        Alan

Thanks Alan I appreciate your help. I am ordering some from Corvette Central. They look like the ones I am using. Maybe these are the original types I don't know. Thanks again for the tip.

Tom - like yourself I'm in the dash doing these right now. The Corvette Central #661073 is not like the originals which have more prongs and prongs are shaped differently, straight out not bent/looped like those. Plus the originals I'm using do not come out easily - in fact the little metal prongs want to break off before the socket comes out.
