      Ned,
As is pretty much the consensus...order on-line...much quicker and more efficient. One of the things that I like about LIC is that when ordering online if there is a price listed then the part is in stock...no wondering if it is going to be back ordered. I, also, have used Paragon with much success. Pretty much the only two vendors I ever use.

Of the few vendors I've dealt with LIC has been the best. I don't buy a lot of stuff so my experience is limited.

On a related note, I like a few others here have two ways to spend my limited funds; airplanes and cars. I have found aircraft parts vendors to be head and shoulders above most car parts vendors. Maybe apples to oranges since the airplane market is a lot smaller than the classic car market.

        Anyway, my two cents.

Ordering online is best with them. But if you must call in your order I find it much easier if you have your list in front of you, and just go down one part after anther in order. Don't ask questions don't try and BS. The best part about them if you order before noon EST it will ship that day.

I own a wholesale distribution (electronics) and have several inside salespeople on staff. Nobody is perfect, and each person has their own personality. I have always tried to stay involve in the sales process because that's where I started off and therefore I can walk to walk. The best form of advertising is a repeat sale and of course the opposite is true.

I bought my first vette earlier this year (63) and like most new to this gig have dealt with a variety of vendors. LIC has actually been the fastest to turn around orders and living in NJ, I always get my shipments the next day. I order online exclusively. Whenever there has been an issue with an order they have actually called me to straightened things out which is unusual in that most online companys will deal with online orders via email exclusively.

In my business, if someone screws up and the customer calls me I will give them the name of someone else to deal with or if necessary, I'll give them my name. My suggestion is to contact a manager and explain what happened and see if there is someone else that you can call and talk to the next time. On the chance you simply don't want to deal with them at all, I have found most of their competitor to offer just as wide a variety of products.

Most of the parts, sold are not unique to any one reseller. It simply wouldn't be cost effective so these parts likely come from the same source and get private labeled. Even if you assume that 1/3 of all c2's are on still on the road, that leaves you with only 25,000 vechicles not all of which need the same parts. With a few dozen large resellers it would be impracticle for any one vendor to have a monopoly on any given part. So there are alternatives.

              Gentlemen, this thread is closed.

Ye ole rule - it ain't real unless it's written.

Interpretation - if a member has a problem with a vendor, the member should write the vendor a letter to let them know about the problem.

Vendor problems should be discussed with the vendor, not aired on the NCRS Technical Discussion Board.
