PPG Lacquer in the Bellevue/Seattle, WA area

I'm going to be in Bellevue, WA in a few weeks and was wondering if anyone could recommend a good source for some PPG lacquer in the area. There isn't a source in Canada and it's a royal hassle having it shipped here so I want to hopefully get what I need when I'm in the area and bring it back with me.

I don't need much, just a couple quarts for some touch-ups and any future issues as I'd rather be safe than sorry. To ensure a proper match I'll be bringing my gas cap door with me so the paint can be properly matched while I wait.

I was thinking of trying Wesco Autobody because there seems to be several in the area and was wondering if some outlets are better to deal with than others. I was also curious to know if there are any other reliable sources in the area.

Any help here would really be appreciated.

    Thanks, Greg

Wesco in Renton Highlands is their only store that has a lacquer mixing machine. They will only be able to mix paint from the original formula while you wait. They won't be able to spray test panels to check the match at the store.

Thanks Stewart and sorry for my late replay.

      So here is my dilemma....

My 69 is Cortez Silver and my door jambs and headlight bezels are off a few shades. This is due to a repaint I had a couple years back which was due to a poor initial paint job and the painter using a different batch of paint the second time around. Why he didn't spray the jambs and bezels again is beyond me. However when I noticed the difference a few months later I was annoyed but not too concerned because I thought I had lots of paint left over and I would just shoot these parts myself.

We'll when it came time to do this last summer I realized that I don't have enough paint for this. Disappointed even more I figured that I'll just have to get some more and have it matched and mixed but it looks like that is not likely going to happen either so what is a guy to do? What would you guys do in my situation???

I swear this car has a paint curse on it but I will prevail!

You might call them and explain your situation, they do have a trainer that is very good at custom matching lacquer but he is busy working in the field with the body shops they sell to. Maybe you could mail your gas door to them in advance. If they won't do it, there are advertisers in Hemmings that offer to custom match lacquer. Probably going to be expensive any way you go.
Is the paint you do have in its original can? Often the jobber will put a copy of the formula they used to mix the contents on the lid. If that is there it would be something to start with.

Okay it never hurts to ask so I'll ask them anyways and see what they say.

The paint I do have is in the original can and to be honest there is enough for what I need but if I use it here I would never have enough for any future mishaps so I need to save it just in case.

I was also wondering how it might turn out if I used a different type of paint besides lacquer for these two areas. I know it generally doesn't work well to spray 2k over lacquer but for these small areas it might be okay as long as I get the sheen and orange peel proper. I wonder if a waterborne without the clear would be a good choice....
