Can You I.D. this Water Pump?

My neighbors widow finally sold his barn find quality '68 4sp. big block. Amongst the odds and ends left behind was a water pump with the following cast or stamped info.:

On the front; number 8306, under that, number 30926-1, under that, just 1. Also, "Made in USA", a capitol "A" in a circle, and a capitol "P" in a circle. It does have a by-pass.

I'm guessing this is an old aftermarket replacement from years ago and is of no particularly value. Next stop, the scrap pile. Am I wrong?

    Thanks.

Rich, All GM water pumps had a GM logo as far as I know. sound like a aftermarket.

Guaranteed aftermarket. I've seen these before.

Does it have any value? Well, it might be acceptable as a core deposit for another rebuilt pump with a correct housing. All 1968 big blocks used a waterpump with GM casting #3856284. This is a VERY common casting and many rebuilt waterpumps will include it. If you're date conscious, that's another matter but you still might get lucky. Of course, the core charge on waterpumps is usually pretty small.
