The front of my hood on my C2 Corvette is high & there is no shims under the hinge, I was told to put a shim under the rear bolt under the hinge on the body side to tilt the hinge, will that crack the hood or the paint?

Re: Adjusting hood on a C2 corvette
Anthony, if you add a shim or two to the under the radiator support that should raise the body to meet hood, be careful as I believe the bumper bracket on front inner fender will have to loosened or bolt removed on that side.New England chapter member, 63 Convert. 327/340- Chapter/Regional/national Top Flight, 72 coupe- chapter and regional Top Flight.- Top

No it won't, but you don't need to tighten the hinge bolts very tight.- Top

That will not crack the body or paint and it does work as I did it to my 67 and it did lower my hood.
