C1 Spindle Condition - to use or not to use

I am getting ready to install the spindles and before I take that step I thought I would check and see if there are any measurements or checks that I should watch for before re-installing.

The general condition of the spindles appears good to me other than the conical surface being slightly grooved. They look straight and the threads look good. Also, I have test fitted the bushings and kingpins and all slides together smoothly.

I would appreciate any other thoughts before assembly.

    thanks, Eric

The conical part is not machined smooth because nothing contacts it when installed other than excess bearing grease. They are all that way. If the machined areas where the bearing races seat are smooth without any play when you slide a bearing on,use them. They are good. Usually what you will find are messed up spindle threads or out of round king pin holes due to excessive wear over a lot of miles. You test fitted them and they were good so you are good to go.

Thanks Tom, I was pleased to have all four bushings slide in place with light to moderate pressure and the kingpins lined up perfectly so any wear in that area must have been minimal. Eric
